HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY CHILD TO GET GOOD AT PLAYING THE DRUMS?

The amount of time it takes for a child to get good at playing the drums can vary depending on a variety of factors, including their natural ability, the amount of practice they put in, and the quality of their instruction. However, in general, it’s important to keep in mind that learning to play the drums is a long-term process that requires patience, dedication, and consistent practice.

In terms of practice, regular, consistent practice is key to improving drumming skills. The amount of practice required to get good at playing the drums can vary depending on the child’s goals and the amount of time they have available, but generally, it’s recommended to practice at least 30 minutes a day, several times a week.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE DRUM LESSONS?

As well as our High and primary school lessons, we offer 1-1 private lessons from our drum studio in Poynton plus home visit lessons.

Do You Recommend Working Towards A Grade?

If you enjoy playing drums and want to improve your skills, working towards a grade can be a good way to do so. Grades provide a structured way to learn and progress through different levels of difficulty, which can help you stay motivated and track your progress over time. Additionally, working towards a grade can give you a sense of achievement and recognition for your hard work.

WHAT IS THE BEST AGE TO START DRUM LESSONS FOR KIDS?

The best age to start drum lessons for kids can vary depending on a child’s individual development and readiness. However, in general, most children can start learning drums at around 6-7 years old.

At this age, most children have developed enough physical coordination and control to start learning basic drumming techniques. They also have a longer attention span and can follow instructions more easily, which can make the learning process smoother.

DO YOU OFFER ONLINE LESSONS?

Yes we do. Online drum lessons can be good, especially if you are unable to attend in-person lessons due to time, location, or other constraints. Our online drum lessons typically use video conferencing software such as Skype or Zoom to connect the student with the teacher in real-time. This allows for live feedback and interaction between the teacher and student, which can be very helpful for improving technique and addressing questions or concerns.
